Dr. Arjun Trivedi (PhD, Physics) is the Founder & Executive Director of Karunar Kheti Trust. Over 15 years, he has worked in some of the world’s leading scientific and engineering institutions: as an engineer in General Electric Company, USA and as a research scientist at the world's cutting-edge research institutions in the field of nuclear and particle physics like the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Switzerland and Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (TJNAF), USA. However, all along he was anything but disconnected from his experiences of growing up and living in the tea plantations of Assam. Even as a child he could see the deep socio-economic-political-environmental challenges of the tea industry and how it was affecting not just its people, but also the larger ecosystem of life. His foray into the highest forms of knowledge through his past experiences uncovered his existential realms and a humbling sense of realization of the unified sense of human experience and knowledge. Arjun uses the metaphor of a farmer and an astronaut as a unified experience, which got fragmented over time making certain forms of knowledge superior over the other. He works with such a vision in the organisation and advocates for working with whatever is here with us now abundantly and believes that this is essential for empowerment. He advocates for universal values such as compassion, peace, love, which binds all human experience.
